Privacy Policy

What we collect

• Account. If you create an account, we store your email, name, a securely hashed password, and an optional profile image.
• Your content. The designs, documents, and files you create — including saved snapshots so your work persists.
• Uploaded media. Images and video you add to a design, kept in object storage.
• Collaboration data. Real-time presence — cursor position, selection, your name and color — shared with people in a file you’re editing.
• Integrations. If you connect Figma, we store access tokens to import content you choose. You can disconnect any time.
• Technical data. Basic logs needed to operate and secure the service.
• Usage analytics. Product analytics about how the editor is used — pages viewed, features used, approximate session length, and error and crash reports — so we can understand what to improve and fix problems. Tied to your account when you’re signed in. We don’t record your screen or the contents of your designs.

We use minimal browser storage to keep you signed in, remember preferences like your theme, and measure product usage with first-party analytics. We don’t use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and we honor your browser’s “Do Not Track” signal for browser-based usage analytics. Necessary operational logs and anonymous server crash reports are not browser tracking.

How we use it

• To provide and operate the editor and real-time collaboration.
• To send transactional email — file invites, and account or security messages. We don’t send marketing email without your consent.
• To understand how the product is used and to detect, diagnose, and fix errors and crashes, using first-party product analytics.
• To keep the service secure, prevent abuse, and fix problems.

Who we share it with

We don’t sell your data. We rely on a small set of infrastructure providers, who process data on our behalf:

• Convex. Database, file storage, and authentication.
• Cloudflare. Hosting, real-time collaboration, media storage, and email delivery.
• PostHog. Product analytics and error tracking, to measure usage and diagnose crashes.
• Figma. Only if you connect it, to import designs you select.

Data retention

• Account data and content are kept while your account is active. Deleting a file removes it (trashed files are purged after deletion), and deleting your account removes your data.
• You can request deletion at any time — see Contact.

Your rights

You can access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. To exercise these, email us. Depending on where you live (for example the EEA, UK, or California), you may have additional rights under laws such as GDPR or CCPA.

Security

Passwords are hashed and data is encrypted in transit. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

Children

Motioner isn’t directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we don’t knowingly collect their data.

International users

We operate from and process data in the United States. By using Motioner, you consent to your data being processed there.

Changes

We may update this policy. We’ll revise the date above, and for material changes we’ll notify you.
